Why is a home called home? The word “home” comes from the Proto-Germanic khaim; it derives its origins from old English meaning a residence as opposed to simply a shelter.(Refer to https://www.altalang.com/beyond-words/naming-house-and-home-word-origins/)
The word “home” could have many meanings. It could be a place that gives us security and warmth or one where we could spend quality time in. A Home is priceless and no amount of money can be exchanged for it. Just imagine yourself lying on the sofa after a long day of work, chilling with your family, watching a sunset out the window, and sharing your story with your family. What a precious moment that is!
Home is a place full of love. However, society is getting sick now; we have forgotten the simplicity of life. We tend to demand more when we got something. People are becoming materialistic. A home must be grand, with expensive furniture to show off to neighbours or relatives.
Is this all a necessity? The answer is no. When you are chasing something beyond your limit, it may turn out to be stressful. Simplicity is key. Build your home with the foundation of love, spend your precious time with your family and enjoy every moment with them. It is all about life, where the home is formed.
